1. Dehydrated Free-Range Chicken

Dehydrated meat of any high-quality protein is always a great choice when it comes to dog food. Regular chicken is primarily comprised of 70% water. Dehydrated chicken is comprised of primarily protein instead of water. Dehydrating meat allows them to maintain most of the nutritional qualities and is one of the best types of protein sources you can use today.

2. Organic Flaxseed

Organic flaxseed is packed with healthy omega 3 and 6 fatty acids which can help promote healthy skin and a shiny coat.

3. Potatoes

Potatoes are a healthy carbohydrate source often found in most dog foods. Often used in place of rice and oats because of their low caloric content, potatoes are a great source of additional vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, potassium and plenty of B vitamins.

4. Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are a rich source of fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, iron, potassium and calcium. They are relatively sweet, so they are only nutritional when used in moderation.

5. Apples

Apples are a nutritional ingredient that every dog can benefit from. Apples tend to be a great source of fiber, Vitamin A and Vitamin C.

6. Celery

Celery is another plentiful source of fiber that can help improve the function of the digestive tract. While in small quantities celery can be beneficial, in larger qualities, celery can cause gas or diarrhea.

7. Honey

Honey is primarily used to help sweeten a dog food to help entice dogs to eat it. While a great addition to any pet treat, if consumed in excess, it can actually affect their health negatively. However, keep in mind that honey has its nutritional benefits. Honey has been known to help relieve a dog’s allergies, can help treat topical wounds, can help reduce gastrointestinal upset and can help boost a dog’s energy.

8. Pumpkin

Pumpkin is a great source of fiber and can help keep dogs regular. It not only tastes great, but can help relieve potential stomach issues.

9. Cabbage

Cabbage is an ingredient that is rich in antioxidants and is even extremely beneficial for dogs. Not only can cabbage aid in healthy digestion, but can help fight off cancer and is incredibly good for a dog’s skin. However, keep in mind cabbage has been known to cause gas.

10. Bananas

Bananas are great for dogs in moderation. Not only are bananas an excellent source of potassium, but they are also rich in manganese, Vitamin B6, biotin, copper, Vitamin C and fiber. While they may be low in both sodium and cholesterol, because of their sugar content, bananas should only be consumed in moderation.

11. Papayas

Papayas are a wonderful treat for dogs. Similar to other fruits, as long as the seeds aren’t used as they are toxic, they can be beneficial. Papayas are low in calories but are rich in fiber which can help aid in digestion, rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin A, iron, calcium and magnesium.

12. Green Beans

This is another ingredient that is low in calories and is highly nutritious. Green beans are loaded with iron, protein, calcium, Vitamin B6, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K and fiber which can help enhance a dog’s digestion.

13. Organic Kelp

Kelp is one of the few ingredients used to help stimulate the thyroid gland in dogs. Kelp can also help improve a dog’s skin and give them a shiny coat as well. It is perfect for dogs who suffer from alopecia, allergies and excessive dry skin.

14. Garlic

When consumed in moderation, garlic can be beneficial for dogs. However, too much garlic can prove toxic. In small quantities however, garlic has a variety of benefits such as supporting intestinal health, contains anti-fungal agents, is considered to be an anti-bacterial, can help lower blood sugar levels, can help lower blood cholesterol and can help support the production of white blood cells.

Every review I have found have been relatively positive across the board. See what actual pet parents and veterinarians are saying about this food below!

There is no other pet food company that quite compares to this food. I work in the veterinary field, so I understand how important it is for dogs to get the nutrition they need. This is one of the foods that I always recommend to my clients as it is perfect for dogs who suffer from sensitivities. I can’t recommend this food highly enough to every pet owner. It won’t disappoint. -m. badgley, December 15th

My dog has finally had 6 months of no issues. Feeding my dog high quality food has been quite a financial burden the past couple of years. She suffers from various digestive issues and I have had to switch foods dozens of times. It wasn’t until I tried this food that my dog has finally had 6 months straight of no stomach upsets. I am not switching off of this food anytime soon. -elleoco, March 28th

This is a food that is easy to prepare, has great value and that my dogs absolutely love! I have always been reluctant to try new foods with my dogs due to the fact my dog tends to lose weight too often and has food allergies. My vet recommended this food to me and I couldn’t be happier. She loves this food and is able to keep her weight at the same time. -Eva, March 5th

This is a line of food I highly recommend. My dogs love this food and I can see the difference in their new shiny coats. Keep in mind I don’t use this food as their primary source of nutrition. I also buy Earthborn dog food and add a little bit of this food over the top. Regardless, it is high quality and you will see the difference in your own dogs. -Jasmine Hollingsworth, June 21st

While the food is funny looking, it is excellent. I love feeding this food to my dog. I wish I had found it sooner. I would have been feeding it to my dog from her puppy days. While it can be a bit on the expensive side, it lasts forever. -Mariandl, August 9th
