Ingredient Breakdown

Whitefish Meal

This is a high-quality protein ingredient that can contain as much as 300% more protein than whitefish contains by itself.

Peas

This ingredient is a plant-based source of carbohydrates, dietary fiber, additional protein, Vitamin K, and Manganese.

Pea Protein

This ingredient is a plant-based source of additional protein. Since peas have already been used in this food, it is only used as a means to boost the protein content on the label.

Canola Oil

This ingredient is used as a fat source in this food which is loaded with Omega 3 fatty acids. Keep in mind, there are healthier alternative oil sources out there.

Dried Egg Product

This ingredient is a source of additional protein. It is obtained from eggs that have been dehydrated prior to use.

Chickpeas

This ingredient is used as a plant-based source of protein. Keep in mind, due to the FDA’s findings on the link between chickpeas and heart disease, I have flagged this ingredient.

Tapioca

This is a starchy ingredient that is used as a source of carbohydrates.

Dried Beet Pulp

This ingredient is a source of dietary fiber, which can help support a healthy digestive system.

Powdered Cellulose

This ingredient is used as an additional source of fiber. However, it is a low-quality fiber source often found in low-quality brands.

Natural Flavors

As the name of this ingredient implies, this ingredient is used as a flavor enhancer. It comes from a variety of meat, fruit, and vegetable sources.

Apples

This healthy ingredient is a source of dietary fiber, Vitamin C, Potassium, and Vitamin K.

Blueberries

This superfood ingredient is a source of dietary fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and Manganese.

Cranberries

This superfood ingredient is a source of carbohydrates and dietary fiber. However, it is often used in healthy cat food brands to help fight against urinary tract infections in cats.

Carrots

This ingredient is a source of beta-carotene, dietary fiber, and a touch of additional protein.

Spinach

This ingredient is a rich source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Magnesium, Iron, and Manganese.
