When I first came across Nature’s Variety Prairie dog food, it was when I was working as a young employee at a local pet supply store. I was intrigued by the number of flavors that was available as well as the relatively low price (back then, at least.) I decided to try it out with my own dog ( I had only 1 at the time). Upon trying it I was surprised how excited he became during dinner time and how much he loved 3 out of the 4 flavors. I loved how I was able to rotate those flavors after every bag he finished and how I could incorporate Nature’s Variety raw into the mix as well.
It is one of those foods that I used to recommend to everyone, especially if they had a bunch of picky eaters.

Nature’s Variety Prairie Dog Food Reviews
As far as reviews or complaints left by customers of Nature’s Variety Prairie dog food, most of the feedback has been fairly positive. Check out what some pet parents have said about this food down below.
Nature’s Variety works extremely well for my dog. I typically purchase the chicken and brown rice formula but alternate occasionally with the lamb and rice formula. The moment I open the bag, my dog usually goes crazy. His stool has stayed firm, making clean up around the backyard a breeze. -Connie Babakian
This food is perfect for my dog as he suffers from IBS. After weeks of frustration dealing with his new health issue, we decided to try this food and have never looked back. While this food can be pricey, it does the trick in managing his issues. -Studio Orange
Buy this food, not blue buffalo! This is one of the few brands of food I trust to feed my dogs. Blue Buffalo never did anything to benefit my dog but this is one of those brands that helped to prevent my dog from getting sick. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but it is well worth the money in the end. -Sedrax
A terrific brand of dog food at a reasonable price. This is one of the few foods that my dog has been eager to eat in a very long time. My only issue is the size of the kibble as it can be too small for big dogs. Other than that, this is a brand of food I highly recommend. -Amazon customer
This is a great brand of food. I am a veterinarian and this is the only brand of food I feed to my dogs. It is also the only brand of food I recommend to my clients. My dogs absolutely love this food and I have never had an issue with freshness. -whataryder
My Final Opinion
I will admit that when it comes to this food, I’m a bit biased. As someone who has personally tried Nature’s Variety dog food with her own dogs, I can testify how beneficial this food can be for dogs. After carefully looking at the ingredients of this food, taking the higher price tag into account, the various flavors available and actual customer reviews, this is a food I highly recommend. It is perfect for dogs of all ages as well as for dogs suffering from various ailments. While it does contain a few whole grains that many people will not like, especially if they are feeding their dogs a grain-free diet and the higher price tag, I believe this food is well worth it in the end.
