Hill’s Science Diet Cat Food Reviews by Pet Owners

Most of Hill’s Science Diet cat food reviews left by cat owners online tend to be pretty mixed. Some owners will swear by this food because their veterinarian recommended it, while others claimed it hasn’t helped their cats at all. Let’s take a closer look at what some owners have been saying about this food below.

“This is a well balanced food. I have used Science Diet for several years and one of my cats lived up to 26 years old because of the food.” -Ravenhill, January 17th

“This is a great food for the long run. I have been using this brand since the 80’s. It helped one of my cats live until 24 years old. That cat was never sick a day in his life. It is well balanced and healthy. After having 31 years of healthy cats thanks to this food, it speaks volumes about its quality.” -Robert the Customer, June 21st

“They recently changed the formula so now my cat won’t touch it. I noticed the change almost immediately and so did my cat. My cat refused to touch this food for 2 days. I ended up having to buy another brand just to get my cat to eat.” -Johnmal1, May 16th

“This really is good food. This food may get a bad rap but it actually is a good brand. This food has helped my cat to develop healthier fur and he eats this food like no other brand. Try it before you judge it.” -Kevin, November 22nd

“Why do they keep changing the formula? I honestly wish the company would leave things alone. The food looks completely different and obviously tastes different based on my cat’s reaction to it. My cat and I are not fond of the new stuff.” -Phil Buglass, March 29th

Hill’s Science Diet Cat Food: The Bottomline

Honestly, after taking a closer look at Hill’s Science Diet cat food, it isn’t the best brand out there, but it certainly isn’t the worst. It is made with a combination of high-quality and low-quality ingredients, one of the worst being corn gluten meal. Based on the reviews other cat owners have left, many people seem to be happy with it, while others hate the fact that the formulas have been changed several times over the years.

That being said, this is not a food I could recommend, but I also can’t say I wouldn’t recommend it either. It all depends on what your cat’s needs are and if you want to take your vet’s recommendation on a good brand. This brand is just “meh” all around. The only advice I can give is to try the brand for yourself and see how your cat responds to it.

Final Verdict:
Meh
